{{ AeroFANatic }} Joe Perry Tracklisting
Because yours truly, the AeroFANatic, fucking rocks.....I now present you with the BRAND NEW TRACKLISTING for Joe Perry's upcoming album, "Joe Perry" to be released on March 29th on SONY records : ) : ) : )
Shakin' My Cage
Hold On Me
Pray For Me
Can't Compare
Lonely
Crystal Ship
Talk Talkin'
Push Comes To Shove
Twilight
Ten Years
Dying To Be Free
Mercy
*according to SONY MUSIC
Interesting Early Thoughts:
- All songs but one (Crystal Ship) are written by Joe.
- Joe plays ALL instruments on album except drums.
- Is "Push Comes To Shove" a remake of the Aero tune, or a brand new one? Stay tuned
- And while I'm not your average "conspiracy theorist", some of these songs titles are "interesting" to say the least. Think of that as you will.
When I get the OK to post any more info, or when I see any possible changes to this list I of course will let you know. And as always, AeroFANatic has got your covered first....always.

Joey Kramer to Jam at Fund-Raiser
Palm Beach Post, FL
January 30, 2005
Revelers Raise Cash, Eyebrows at Fests Galore
"In The Season, this weekend stands out as the busiest. From one end of the county to the other. A social Super Bowl of sorts. Blue bloods, music legends, famous jocks, politicians and clashes of egos — a dizzying extravaganza fueled by expensive champagne and millions in donations.
It started in Jupiter Friday night. The American Cancer Society held its sold-out shindig at Admiral's Cove.....The scene moved south Saturday, with the dueling Palm Beach balls. At Mar-a-Lago, the local Red Cross chapter held a $2 million fund-raiser....."
"Tonight, the third ring of the social circus is at the Marriott in Delray Beach for the WPB-based Children's Place at Home Safe fund-raiser. I hear there's going to be a jam session after dinner with host Tico Torres (Bon Jovi), Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi), Alice Cooper, Stevie Van Zandt (E Street Band), Nico McBrain (Iron Maiden), Joey Kramer (Aerosmith), Bobby Dall (Poison) and Snake Sabo (Skid Row)....."
Aerosmith Rocked the Rafters Of Nipmuc
MetroWest Daily News, MA
January 30, 2005
"Dear Mr. Know-It-All, you wrote a few weeks ago about Jimi Hendrix
performing in Framingham. Didn't Aerosmith perform in MetroWest, too?
P.R., Milford
Indeed they did, P.R. In fact, Aerosmith's very first concert took place in MetroWest, specifically at Nipmuc Regional High School in Mendon on Nov. 6, 1970. Carl Olson was a history teacher at Nipmuc at the time as well as the adviser for the sophomore class, which organized the Aerosmith concert.
'It was a hard battle to actually get them there,' Olson recalls. 'Most dances back then were record hops. Having live bands was kind of an unusual thing to do. Still, a group of students convinced me to hire the group. Joe Perry (Aerosmith's guitarist) is from nearby Hopedale and the kids were friendly with him so we convinced the principal to allow us to take 50 bucks out of the class treasury in order to pay them for the night.'....."
"While $50 may seem like chump change now for one of rock 'n' roll's premier bands, that money was put to good use by the group, according to Olson. 'If you look in their autobiography, they said that $50 paid the rent for the apartment in Boston where they were staying back then,' he says. The concert was organized as a fund-raiser with admission either 50 or 75 cents, according to Olson. 'I'm not sure if we covered all the costs,' he says....."
" 'They didn't play many songs but it was loud,' Olson recalls. 'And the kids loved it, though the adults were a little taken back. 'They performed in the gym to a crowd of about 125 people, which was a good crowd for dances back then.'....."
This story in further detail, right here

Aerosmith Not Planning Any Public Super Bowl Activities
Blabbermouth.net
January 29, 2005
Launch Radio Networks is reporting that the members of Aerosmith are backing their hometown New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, but don't expect to see them do anything in public. The band is in the midst of its year-long hiatus, so unlike years past, they won't be featured performers at the game. Lead guitarist Joe Perry said that they might possibly attend some sort of event, but that they're basically staying low-key. "All I can say is that we'll probably be there in spirit," Perry told Launch. "I don't know — I've been up to quite a few games, myself and my family, to support them. I don't know — Steven may, he may do something. I mean, he sang the national anthem at the start of the, the (Boston Red) Sox series, so we definitely are supporters there."
The Patriots will meet the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX (39) at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 6.
Perry will release a solo album in March, and he plans to tour behind it.

OSBOURNE RELOCATES RECORDING
Rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne was forced to rearrange recording sessions for her tsunami charity single "Tears In Heaven," because of snow storms blasting America's eastern coastline.
The 52-year-old has joined forces with arch-rival Simon Cowell to recruit a host of musical talent to contribute to the cover of Eric Clapton's tragic song.
Pink and veteran Aerosmith rocker Steve Tyler were due to record their vocal parts in New York at the weekend (22-23JAN05), but couldn't make the journey.
The two stars will now travel to the Osbourne's Los Angeles mansion to record their contributions in the studio of Sharon's husband, Ozzy.
Pink and Tyler are joined on the star-studded fund raising line-up by Sir Elton John, Rod Stewart and Gwen Stefani. British stars Westlife, Brian McFadden and Will Young are in talks with Cowell about contributing.
Steven Tyler - Ozzy's All-Star Tsunami-Relief Single Delayed By Blizzard
MTV.com
January 24, 2005
Recording sessions for 'Tears in Heaven' cover pushed back.
"What was supposed to be a weekend full of star-studded tsunami-relief efforts was partially curtailed due to a blizzard that blanketed the Northeast in snow.
Pink and Steven Tyler, who were scheduled to record their vocals in New York for a cover of Eric Clapton's 'Tears in Heaven,' had to cancel their sessions because of the nearly 14 inches of snow that halted activity throughout the city. Recording sessions for the project, which is being helmed by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, were set to take place in both England and the U.S. beginning last Thursday (see 'Gwen Stefani, Pink, Osbournes To Record Cover Of 'Tears In Heaven' ').
Sessions for Pink and Tyler have been tentatively rescheduled for next weekend, according to a spokesperson for the project....."

Brown: It's classic case of musical irony
"A lot of music fans have gotten over the trauma, real or imagined, of hearing their favorite songs in TV commercials.
It's a practice that used to be a cultural line in the sand - either you sold out your songs to peddle products or you didn't. When a classic song turned up as a jingle, music fans moaned about their memories being sold, never being able to hear the song the same way again . . . wah, wah, wah...
Aerosmith's Dream On - a song about aging, death, oblivion - is the latest high-profile entry into the scene, shilling for a new line of Buicks. One could argue it's the perfect midlife crisis song, I suppose. "

"But what is relatively new is how rapidly this trend has grown in the past few years. And unlike most of their predecessors who have generally left their pop-star days behind and devoted themselves full time to composing, many of these newer film-score composers are keeping their feet firmly planted in the music industry as performing artists who regularly make or produce records in addition to touring....."

Chicago Maroon
Jan 21, 2005, 9:54 AM
"If you watch the music video for the remixed 'Walk This Way,' there’s something amazing in Steven Tyler’s face when two vaguely thuggish rappers break through the wall and onto Tyler’s stage. Something in his eyes flickers with an awareness. His look is one not only of offense—his song was being hijacked, after all—but also of respect. Like it or not, hip-hop (and more specifically, Run-DMC) had arrived, wearing sweat suits, black hats, and Adidas sneakers. And although the remix of 'Walk This Way' was more a tag-team wrestling match than a duet, it featured two Goliaths taking turns on one mic.
We all know now, nearly 20 years later, that what happened was not a hijacking; it was a partnership of sorts. The remixed 'Walk This Way' broke convention as easily as Run-DMC broke through the stage wall, climbing to the top of the charts and earning critical acclaim in doing so....."
"The duet that began with Aerosmith and Run-DMC was picked up early last year; The Grey Album was a different creature altogether. Produced by an underground disc jockey....."

Plans for the Recording of Cover: "Tears in Heaven"
Blabbermouth.net, NY
January 18, 2005
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne officially announced Monday (Jan. 17) their plans to record a cover of Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven" to benefit storm recovery efforts, according to MTV.com.
Velvet Revolver, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne are among the artists lending their voices to the song, sales of which will benefit the Disasters Emergency Committee's Tsunami Earthquake Appeal.
The recording sessions will take place on two continents, starting this Thursday at London's Whitfield Street Studios, where Velvet Revolver, Elton John and Italian opera star Andrea Bocelli will lay down vocals. The following week, Gwen Stefani, Rod Stewart, the Osbournes, Josh Groban and Robbie Williams will record their tracks in Los Angeles. Pink is set to record in New York, and Tyler will do his vocal work in Boston.
Sharon is set to produce the track along with "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell.
Clapton's original version of "Tears" — written after the tragic death of his 4-year-old son Conor in 1991 — first appeared on the 1992 soundtrack to the film "Rush", and then later that year on his "Unplugged" album. The stripped-down, acoustic version of the song took home several Grammy awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Aerosmith "You Gotta Move" DVD Review
Rock N Roll Universe
Review By Frank Waltman
"You Gotta Move is Aerosmith's first ever live DVD. Originally aired on A&E television. You Gotta Move has been released with five new songs not shown on the original TV broadcast. Also included is a cool thirty minute documentary on the making of their 2004 release Honkin' On Bobo. Plus a six song live cd recorded on this years Honkin' On Bobo tour. Okay now that you know what the DVD is all about.
Let's get to the 'Real Nitty Gritty' - You Gotta Move sounds fantastic. So good you feel like you're in the crowd at the concert. The song selection here covers the band's long thirty year history. Toys In The Attic, Love In An Elevator, Cryin', The Other Side, I Don't Want To Miss A Thing and Walk This Way are some of the twenty one songs on here. If you've ever got to see any old footage of Aerosmith in the 70's or were able to see them live back then. You'll watch YGM and see that this is a band that is definitely drug free and rocking harder and BETTER than ever. YGM is interlaced with commentary throughout that gives some insights as to how the band got to where they are now. And proceeds to show a band that truly enjoys themselves more now than anytime in their whole career. My one complaint with YGM is the editing of the show. Yes they used a lot of cameras to film it. But do they have to prove that to us by not staying put on anyone for more than five seconds? Iron Maiden's Rock In Rio DVD comes to mind here....."

Joe Perry Interviewed at National Dog Show
The Grand Rapids Press, MI
January 17, 2005
It Was Quite a Battle to be Top Dog
"It had all the components of a Super Bowl telecast. The live spectacle featured the top competitors strutting their stuff in front of a cheering crowd, lots and lots of commercials, an appearance by Aerosmith and a wardrobe malfunction that might make Janet Jackson blush.
Yes, all of that actually occurred.
It happened Sunday night during the fourth annual AKC Eukanuba National Championship -- a prestigious canine competition -- simulcast live from Tampa, Fla., on both Animal Planet and Discovery Channel....."
"....Bring on Aerosmith
The telecast of the finale had other wonderful moments.
It included a sideline report from Leanza Cornett, who thrust a microphone in front of Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry for an unexpected interview. Perry, who has an affinity for German shepherds, attended the two-day event with his family.
'Dogs are part of our lives and part of our families,' he said.
The wardrobe malfunction, of all people, involved the contest judge. The elegantly attired Billings had to interrupt the 'Best in Show' judging almost before it had begun when the small microphone clipped to the lapel of her gown slipped. She signaled for a timeout and made her way to the sideline to retrieve the microphone that had fallen into her undergarment. 'I didn't know we were going to have a burlesque show,' she said with a laugh.
The Super Bowl, of course, is a much grander spectacle.
Yet these championship-bred pooches sure put on a magnificent show."

PCs Autographed by Robert Redford, Steven Tyler to be Auctioned on Bay for Charity
"SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 2005--Actor and filmmaker Robert Redford and Aerosmith's front man Steven Tyler joined Intel Corporation CEO Craig R. Barrett and Bay CEO and President Meg Whitman in "signing up" to preserve the environment by autographing two PCs for charitable auction on Bay.
The two limited-edition HP Entertainment PCs powered by the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with Hyper-Threading Technology (HT Technology) will be available for bidding on Bay starting Jan. 24. Proceeds will support the National Cristina Foundation (NCF), an organization that encourages corporations and individuals to donate surplus and used technology for use by training and educational organizations nationwide. NCF is a partner in the Rethink Initiative, a new program that brings together industry, government, environmental groups and the Bay community to address "e-waste."
The Rethink Initiative was unveiled Jan. 6 at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where Tyler, Redford, Barrett and Whitman autographed the Entertainment PCs to support the program and encourage consumers to both "rethink" how they recycle technology products and adopt an environmentally conscious approach to disposing of old equipment.
"As consumers purchase new and exciting technology products, the responsible disposal of old equipment is an important issue," said Tim Mohin, Intel's director of sustainable development. "The e-waste pile is growing high around the world, and statistics show that it runs into millions of tons annually. The auction will help raise awareness for this important issue and support the Rethink Initiative in facilitating the responsible management of used technology around the world."
Industry analyst Gartner estimates that in the United States alone about 133,000 PCs per day are currently being retired but only 10 percent are recycled. Promoting the responsible management of used technology since 1995, Intel initiatives in the past two years have diverted more than 500,000 pounds of used electronics from going to landfills.
More information about the auction can be found at www.bay.com/rethinkEPC.
About the National Cristina Foundation
Every day around the world the National Cristina Foundation (www.cristina.org) is working to ensure that used computer resources that no longer meet a company's or individual's needs are given a second productive life as a tool for developing human potential. Since 1985, hundreds of thousands of computers have been donated at no cost to both donors and recipient organizations, and millions of people throughout the world have been helped to lead more independent and productive lives.
About the Rethink Initiative
The Rethink Initiative brings together industry, government and environmental organizations to offer a fresh perspective and new answers to the challenge of e-waste. The centerpiece of the Rethink program is a Web site (www.bay.com/rethink) that helps consumers and businesses learn about the different product disposition alternatives, such as recycling and refurbishing. Intel and Bay are jointly promoting the Rethink Initiative and working together to reach out to additional industry, government and environmental groups to help make the Rethink Initiative even more comprehensive.

Movie Clip of Interview With Steven Tyler - Experiences With Michael Masley
See Clip: Steven Tyler Interview
Street Musician Has a Sound That's Out of This World
San Francisco Chronicle
January 15, 2005
In the winter of 1981, Michael Masley was taking care of a remote fishing lodge in northern Michigan.......He put horse-hair on his fingers and began bowing the steel strings of the cymbalom, the chromatic hammered dulcimer.......
"The cymbalom has got a lot of resonance, and yet there's no limit to the virtuosity you can develop on it," said Masley, whose fans include rocker Steven Tyler, the Aerosmith singer who appears in "Art Officially Favored," a documentary-fiction hybrid that Berkeley filmmaker Martin Yernazian is making about Masley.........
John Bionelli working with VR
From the mind of Ross Halfin:
"Have a hard day, trying to get motivated (I am so jet-lagged). Slash calls me so I'm off to Hammersmith to shoot Velvet Revolver - while I remember my good friend John Bionelli is slumming it and working for them. He is crestfallen because Kazuyo, the woman of his dreams, is in Japan... "I miss her so much" he tells me. Anyway, nice to see him. Especially as dealing with Velvet Revolver is worse than a mental institution. Good show, but I was elsewhere - hard to focus on what I was doing..."

Fast Chat: Joe Perry
Newsday.com
January 14, 2005
Joe Perry likes to talk, but the 54-year-old guitarist for Aerosmith doesn't like to smile.
Why the long face? After all, Aerosmith's latest album of juiced-up blues tunes has the goofy title "Honkin' on Bobo." And the whole reason Perry was visiting Manhattan's Hard Rock Cafe recently was to promote the latest flavor of his Rock Your World hot sauce, called Mango Peach Tango. But in conversation with Newsday's Rafer Guzmán, the guitarist never once cracked a grin. And when asked about Aerosmith's Metallica-style stint in group therapy years ago, he gave a short reply before ending the interview.
Was it something we said?
How did a guy from Boston get involved in hot sauce? Shouldn't you be doing, like, baked beans?
I'm from Portuguese-Italian descent, and I come from first-generation. So exotic food is in my blood. And in the traveling I do, I've been exposed to all kinds of food. Not only do you get to try a lot of exotic food, you also get to try a lot of crappy, bland food. So the light goes off, and you start bringing hot sauce with you.
You actually bring it on tour?
And bringing a lot. Our dressing room - usually there's 20 bottles in the middle of the table. And what I found myself doing was mixing a lot of them together to try to get something I really liked. And I had a relationship with David Ashley, who's got Ashley Food Companies [which also produces sauces for Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead]. I asked him for advice, and we decided to go in partners.
So the new sauce is called Mango Peach Tango. Won't people confuse you with Ted Nugent? [Pause] You know, "Wango Tango"?
Well, I don't know what he's got going on with "Wango Tango," but Mango Peach Tango, the whole thing is the blend of the two fruits with the spice. The "Tango" being the spicy part.
You know, using rock and roll to sell products used to be uncool. What happened to that antiestablishment attitude?
The whole thing with our blues connection - I love barbecue, I love the South. The whole thing makes sense to me. But using music to sell products, it's been done for years. If it's a really cheesy product and it's something that's totally obscure and wrong, then you take issue with it. But for an Aerosmith song to be played during a cool car commercial - I mean, it's another place where Aerosmith gets its music heard. Kids know "Dream On" because of the Buick ad. How many times have you heard that Led Zeppelin song when you see this cool car, this Cadillac, screaming down the road? I think kids today don't see that as a downside, because they get their music in so many different places, in video games and commercials.
You have the "Honkin' on Bobo" album, and you made an appearance in "Lightnin' in a Bottle" [the blues concert film]. Why is the blues so important to you?
It's in my subconscious, it gets under my skin. That's the music that makes me want to pick up a guitar and play. Jazz doesn't do it; no other kind of music does it. We're not real blues players, and we never will be. But you can learn from it and assimilate it and at least know the form. We can have fun playing the music - as we hear it - and morphing into our band of suburban white guys having fun and playing rock and roll. We pay our respects and pay homage and try not to offend anyone by putting our own spin on it.
For a young kid who doesn't know the blues, where would be a good place to start?
Mississippi Fred McDowell - you'll hear a lot of Zeppelin and Stones in there. He was a big influence on those guys. And, of course, Muddy Waters. And Johnny Winter was another that really could capture the black blues and make it accessible, so it didn't sound like old man's music. And, of course, Robert Johnson and Son House, to get that classic, one-guy-playing kind of thing. But to get to the rocked-out stuff, you want Slim Harpo, Fats Domino, Muddy Waters and Mississippi Fred McDowell.
Have you seen Metallica's movie ["Some Kind of Monster"]? It was the first time most people saw a band going through group therapy, but Aerosmith did that years ago. What was that process like?
It's in the book [1999's "Walk This Way," by Stephen Davis and Aerosmith]. You have a choice: You can either break up your band, or you can deal with it. If more bands would do that, we'd have more great music on the planet. I haven't seen that movie, because I've seen our movie. But I do admire their courage, because it's really hard to do.

Voxilla.com

Lowell, MA-based VoIP provider BroadVoice might just have landed it's own celebrity rock star.
According to BroadVoice President David Epstein, Steven Tyler, lead singer of the rock band Aerosmith (and father of actress Liv Tyler), tried out the company's VoIP service at the Panasonic booth during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week.
Tyler made a few calls using the service and, Epstein said. was so satisfied with the quality he signed up on the spot for the company’s Unlimited World Plan.
The front of BroadVoice's web site now features a photo of Tyler next to the words “He tried it, he liked it, he signed up.” A link from the photo opens another, featuring Tyler at CES holding a sign that reads “VoIP Phone Service Powered by BroadVoice.”
“He seems pretty happy,” said Epstein. “There’s some possibility that the relationship will expand over time. Stay tuned.”

January 11, 2005
Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry recently told Launch Radio Networks that the concert material on the group's recently platinum-certified "You Gotta Move" DVD demonstrates to him and everyone else just how good a band Aerosmith is. "It was a really good performance, and, you know, to get a performance that hangs together, very often people will film 20 shows to put a DVD together like that — and we filmed one," he said. "It was a testament to the ability of the band to put on a good show, knowing the cameras were running." Perry will release a solo album called "Joe Perry" in late March. He's said there will be some performances tied to the project, but no dates have been announced.

Stars Sing Clapton's Track For Tsunami Victims
ContactMusic.com
January 7, 2005
Sharon Osbourne has enlisted a host of stars to cover Eric Clapton's tragic song Tears In Heaven for a charity single to raise money for the victims of the Indian Ocean tsunami.
The rock matriarch has joined forces with arch-rival Simon Cowell to produce a star-studded remake of the 1992 song Clapton wrote following the death of his four-year-old son Conor, who was killed when he fell from a 53rd floor apartment window.
Osbourne says, "We approached Eric and his lawyers and everyone else said yes straight away - we could not think of a more appropriate song."
The song will include the vocal talents of Rod Steward, Robbie Williams, Sir Elton John, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, Gwen Stefani and Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne.
Cowell is in talks for Westlife, Will Young and Brian McFadden to join the track, which will be released on Sony and BMG Records.
Osbourne adds, "The people taking part are spread all over the world. They will probably have to record their parts in local studios and then we can put them all together."
Steven can't perform

Good Evening People
Aero247.com
By: Nick
I've decided to step up to the plate and take over where Chris @ RockThisWay.de left off. Lately, you would have to belong to 5 different message boards and mailing lists to get the latest news on Aerosmith. I figured the fans were quicker at getting news then the offical sites and it would be great to be able to read all of it in one place. It will hopefully become a great resource for Aerosmith fans everywhere.
I have decided to run it a little different then Chris. As he was the only one who updated his website (he did a great job at it), I have asked for help from Chris A.k.A. AeroFanatic and Sakutak to contribute to the page. Instead of them having to send me articles, everything will be setup in a way that they can easily post news without me having to do it for them. I will be more then likely asking for more people to help post articles, and if you would be interested in you can post to the message boards when I ask for more people.
There is a comment section enabled for the news page. You have to register first, it only takes a few minutes, and you will be able to post responses to anything that gets posted here. Don't like what one of the reviews were, post about it! You'll be able to e-mail an article to someone who might like to read it.
The template (backround, text, etc) is NOT permament. If you would like to suggest another template post on the message boards about it and include a link to be able to download it and preview.
All articles that are posted here will be given credit where credit is due.
When Aerosmith starts touring again setlists & concert pictures will be posted about here along with the usual places Chris postes the setlists. I will NOT post every concert picture here because it will make the page load time increase. I will post about the pictures and the link to them.
So let the fun begin!
