They compare before and after pics of a star, in this case Steven, and a plastic surgeon then gives their input on wether or not they have had plastic syrgery. It is on the stands this week, has Jen and Brad (SURPRISE) on the cover, dated 3/7/05. Steven is on page 36.

"Imperturbable mobster-turned-movie-producer Chili Palmer tries his hand at the music biz in Be Cool, the long-awaited sequel to Barry Sonnefeld's deftly funny 1995 Elmore Leonard adaptation, Get Shorty...MGM launches Be Cool in the US this weekend with extensive marketing support. Leonard adaptations have fared particularly well at the box office in recent years but Be Cool should still be capable of beating Get Shorty's fairly modest $72m domestic gross... Travolta slips easily back into Chili's stylish wardrobe. Thurman looks great but seems less comfortable with her part. Cedric, Vaughn (playing a small-time white hood with delusions of blackness) and Outkast’s Andre Benjamin (as a goofy member of the producer's posse) are a lot of fun in their parts and The Rock (last seen in Walking Tall) plays against type as a gay bouncer. Cameo appearances come from the likes of James Woods, Danny DeVito (the only other performer returning from Get Shorty), basketball player Kobe Bryant and rocker Steven Tyler. Perhaps in the hope of attracting younger audiences, the film takes time out for several musical performances...from Milian, The Black Eyed Peas and Tyler's group, Aerosmith ....."

Lauren Shows Off Hot Wheels
"High-Horsepower Reception as the well-heeled arrived at last night's black-tie opening of the exhibition of Ralph Lauren's classic sports cars at the Museum of Fine Arts...Some 1,500 people were on the guest list for the party that spread beyond the exhibition area and into the entire museum. In addition to the proud owner of the 16 cars on display, his wife, Ricky, and their children, Andrew, David, and Dylan, other invitees included Merril Pyes, managing partner of exhibition co-sponsor Merrill Lynch; PBS chat show host Charlie Rose; state Representatives Gloria Fox and Jeffrey Sanchez; Celtics CEO Wyc Grousbeck; and Aerosmith's Joey Kramer and Tom Hamilton."
U-Daily News, CA February 25, 2005

"It's a few hours before the Grammy Awards, and Christina Milian, who'll present the broadcast's first prize with John Travolta and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, is up, but not upset...Milian, who resembles a petite, young Janet Jackson, says. 'My parents have been fans of Aerosmith their whole lives, and I'm the generation that's working with them now. I pinch myself every day'...But no amount of show-business savvy - or that youthful, accomplished cool she wears as effortlessly as her long, piled-high copper hair - could prevent jitters leading up to 'Be Cool's' most demanding scene: a duet with Tyler on 'Cryin',' performed at a real-life Aerosmith concert.
'I was really intimidated going in to do that with him,' Milian admits. 'He's been doing it for awhile, plus I come from more of a history of r&b pop music. Going in to do a rock song that's his own, in front of an audience of 30,000 people that were there to see an Aerosmith concert in Boston. ... But actually, I'd say it was the highlight of my whole life. We shot it three times in the middle of their show, and every single time, the chemistry that Steven and I had was so natural as performers, it just felt so good. The energy that we got from each other - on one microphone! I, like, want to be a rock star!' "
Aerosmith's Tom Hamilton, local bluesman James Montgomery, and Boston rocker Aaron Lewis from the band Staind will be part of an all-star jam session at the March 4 ``School House Rocks'' benefit bash for Peace Games, a Boston-based program for safe schools and communities. "In his Series debut, (Larry) Walker tied a Cardinals record for the Series with four hits...'I haven't stopped thinking about the World Series since it ended,' Walker said. 'Some nights I don't sleep and sit up thinking, What if we got a hit here or didn't throw a pitch there. You replay stuff through your mind a lot, and I don't know when that will stop. I'm sure it will, because we've got to focus on this year. But it's always there.'
Sometimes in ways Walker never expected. He was watching the Super Bowl earlier this month and, during the pregame festivities, thought, 'Yeah, I know what that's like.'
Much to his disbelief, Walker, an Aerosmith fan, found himself standing near Steven Tyler, the group's lead singer, as Tyler sang the national anthem before Game 1 in Boston..."

"You hear it everyday, but you'd never even notice it existed - until somebody opens your ears. It's rooted deep in American culture, has influenced countless musicians worldwide, and for many still alive, it's the core of their life...I'm talking about a true born-and-bred American musical juggernaut - the blues...
The blues and blues-rock artists persisted in the 70's, but were slowly getting edged out by Motown, R&B and dance music as they headed towards the 80's. Newer blues-rooted outfits like Aerosmith, ZZ Top and Led Zeppelin lost major battles - Aerosmith started playing pop rock, Led Zeppelin broke up after their drummer, John 'Bonzo' Bonham died to an alcohol binge of epic proportions, and ZZ Top started playing guitars covered by pink fuzzy stuff...
Today, the blues enjoys moderate success and massive influence. Recent releases by Aerosmith and Eric Clapton pay tribute and regain their blues heritage..."

February 23, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Celebrity Web sites, services and e-commerce software developer Paid, Inc. (paid.com) announced on Tuesday it will partner with SplitStream Technologies, LLC (splitstream.com) to develop and maintain the ecommerce system behind rock band Aerosmith's Aero Force One fan club Web site (aeroforceone.com) and additional celebrity fan club Web sites Paid plans to develop.
The Westwood, Massachusetts-based SplitStream, a subsidiary of Susquehanna Capital Management, LLC, provides enterprise level management for IT infrastructure, Web application development and data center managed services. Over the past several years it has developed valuable knowledge of fan management application development working closely with AF1 and other organizations.
SplitStream says it is one of the few technology companies that have created commerce systems with the application development and network architecture capable of handling the high traffic volumes that occur during online ticket sales events.
"Our unusual combination of application development and network architecture, coupled with our unique experience in the servicing of high-traffic, fan oriented Web sites makes us ideally suited to partner with Paid for the ongoing development and hosting of a turnkey solution that will enable Paid to rapidly deploy new celebrity fan club sites," says Steve Mammone, principal of SplitStream.
ROCK 'N' ROLLING IN IT His peeps aren't saying why Steven Tyler and his wife, Teresa, are splitting after 17 years, but one thing's for sure, it isn't about money. The new issue of Rolling Stone ranks rock 'n' roll's top 50 moneymakers of 2004, and the Boston band makes the list. Although Aerosmith earned just $450,000 per show last year -- about half of what it made on its last tour -- it still raked in $16 million last year, placing 35th out of 50 acts, down 10 spots from the previous year. (Prince finished No. 1 in 2004, earning an impressive $56.5 million.) In a statement released Sunday, Tyler's publicist Mitch Schneider said only that the Tylers, who have a 16-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son, are ''a family trying to work through a difficult time."

Travolta goes back to cool As Chili Palmer, he shares another dance with Uma Thurman
"Tough guy Chili Palmer has a little John Travolta smooth in him, but other than that, the actor's not so sure they have a lot in common.....Opening on March 4, the F. Gary Gray-directed movie ('Be Cool') finds Travolta's Chili in his underworld element.....On the music front, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler portrays himself with apparent ease....."
You will see articles posted on Aero247.com about Joe's Solo Album, TV appearances by the band, etc, but from here on out you will NOT see articles about Steven's seperation from Teresa. If you want to find the articles, or as I call them gossip, you can view other message boards for that news. This site is dedicated to the band and their music, this current issue has nothing to do with either. I have locked the thread about it on the message boards and will keep it that way. So far we have seen two reports that go against what the other one said, which one do you believe? I don't want to add fuel to the fire by only spreading these rumors that come from "sources". I am sorry if you decide not to visit because of this decision but I feel it is the right thing to do.

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler separating from his wife
Associated Press
LOS ANGELES - Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler and his wife of 17 years, Teresa, are separating, the singer announced Sunday.
Tyler, 56, asked the public to respect his family's privacy in a statement released through the band's publicist Mitch Schneider.
"Before the tabloid media makes more of this than it is, I am announcing that my wife Teresa and I are currently separated," Tyler said. "We're just a family trying to work through a difficult time. A little privacy and sensitivity - for Teresa, my children and myself - would be nice."
The couple have two teenage children, Chelsea, 16, and Taj, 13.
Tyler is also the father of model Mia Tyler, 26, from a previous marriage to Cyrinda Fox, and the actress Liv Tyler, 27, from a previous relationship.

Fox is Bullish on Comedy Series About FleetCenter Workers
"...Alex Finkelstein...now has the run of the FleetCenter. That's because the 29-year-old ex-venture capitalist just sold a sitcom to Fox-TV based on the arena's bull gang - the tough, buff guys and gals who lay down the parquet, uncover the ice, get the stage ready for rock stars and do all the grunt work for every event at the Fleet..."
"...After years of hounding and pavement pounding, Alex got in to see Hollywood honchos Tom Mazza and Jeffrey Kramer and they were both bullish on 'The Bull Gang.' Alex's new partners brought in a writer and last Thanksgiving, they made their pitch to the networks and Fox snapped up the show. Finkelstein said his idea is to incorporate real-life FleetCenter stars like Paul Pierce, Joe Thornton, Steven Tyler, etc., into the show and Fox has OK'd shooting in Boston every four weeks. 'Right now, we're finishing the script for the pilot and hopefully we'll be shooting it in the spring......'"

"Napster, the once-infamous online music site, is back. The new Napster, which, by the way, is totally legal, wants to rent music, rather than sell it. For a flat monthly fee, you can download the entire catalog of nearly 1 million songs. But there are some important catches...Most music sites, like the wildly popular Apple iTunes, charge 99 cents for each song you download...The new all-you-can-eat Napster — called Napster To Go — will let subscribers download most of the million-song library for 15 bucks a month. It's almost overwhelming at first. Look up complete Billboard Top 100 charts dating back to 1955, and download all the songs.
Like Aerosmith? No problem. Download all their albums. Or just download the hot new releases.
Ah, but there are some catches. First, you're renting the music. Stop paying the monthly subscription, and your downloads will die. They no longer play...Also, you can't burn songs to a CD and have them play in the car. So there's the tradeoff. Rent a huge library, but face the music when you decide to stop paying the subscription. Or buy each song....."

"It is fitting that Ted Nugent will spend the early hours of his March 12 trip to Terre Haute shooting machine guns. He is now 56 years old. But now, more than ever, Nugent delivers his opinions and guitar licks in rapid fire, loudly. And his gig as the opening act of an odd Hulman Center concert billing headlined by country singer Toby Keith offers rock-n-roll's 'Motor City Madman' the perfect forum....."
"Nugent found an ally in Keith. The Nuge's old rock buddies Joe Perry and Stephen Tyler of Aerosmith and Sammy Hagar let him know Keith was a fan. They met, shared the stage once with Willie Nelson for a CMT special and, at Keith's invitation, eventually wound up on the same USO tour of the Persian Gulf in 2004.....Nugent said, 'We bonded on every important quality-of-life issue...And as we were flying home...I said...the impact we had on these soldiers...we're idiots if we don't take this on the road in America.....'"

'He's just the cutest little month-and-7-days-old boy who I can't wait to take fishing,' said Grandpa Tyler, who was just slightly off on Milo's age. (He was born Dec. 14.)

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was in Los Angeles Monday night for the West Coast premiere of F.Gary Gray's "Be Cool". The film is the highly anticipated sequel to "Get Shorty", bringing back hit man Chili Palmer (played by John Travolta) and starring Uma Thurman, The Rock, Harvey Keitel, Vince Vaughn, Danny DeVito and Andre Benjamin. In "Be Cool", Chili moves his strong-arm tactics from the movie business to the music industry. Steven Tyler plays himself, helping Chili break a promising young pop star (played by Christina Milian). The film is slated to open in theatres nationwide on March 4.

Steven Tyler, John Travolta and Christina Milian kicked off the 47th annual Grammy Awards by giving out a lifetime achievement award to blues legend Pinetop Perkins. The trio then presented the Best Pop Performance by a Duo Or Group With Vocal award to Los Lonely Boys for "Heaven".
Before the broadcast, you might have caught Steven with his "brood" (son Taj and daughter Chelsea) on the E! "Red Carpet Awards" pre-show, where they were interviewed by Kathy Griffin. Kathy asked young Taj what designer he was wearing, and Taj honestly replied with a shrug, "I don't know." Steven said, "A smile...isn't that the most important?"
Steven continued that positive energy all night. During the telecast you could spot the four-time Grammy winner giving Green Day a standing ovation, shaking hands with the guys on their way to the stage to accept an award for Best Rock Album.
Later in the show, Steven rocked his contribution to the star-studded performance of John Lennon and Paul McCartney's "Across the Universe". The powerful rendition also featured Bono, Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, Velvet Revolver, Tim McGraw, Brian Wilson and Al Green. Proceeds from downloads of the live performance benefit tsunami relief efforts.

Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland spoke to the Associated Press about the group's unexpected win at this past weekend's Grammy Awards, where the group were honored with an award in the Best Hard Rock Performance category (for "Slither").

"Performing John Lennon's 'Across the Universe' onstage [with an all-star cast, including Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, U2's Bono and Alicia Keys] was absolutely one of the highlights of my professional career, of my life," he added.
Vodka in hand, Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum watched the West Coast replay of the Grammy show on a television by the bar, sporting a look of happy disbelief.

"If the sight of Phil Jackson coaching the Lakers seems too Hollywood even for Hollywood's team, you're right. And if the slim possibility that he'd return did come true, it still wouldn't be in time to save his scene in the soon-to-be-released movie, 'Be Cool'.....'The movie comes out March 4,' said F. Joe Perry-- from Boneyard to Sugar Studio
Aside from the Red Sox and Patriots, few people are more identified with Boston than Joe Perry of Aerosmith. He has been the city's best-known rock guitarist for years, even though he lives in the South Shore town of Duxbury.
But that's about to change. Next week, Perry becomes a country gentleman in Vermont.
Yes, you heard it right. Vermont.
"It's time to bust a move," says Perry, who has purchased the scenic 120-acre Sleepy Hollow Farm near White River Junction. "We've always made Boston our home because of the band and the kids, but now that's changing."
Aerosmith is on a break until September, at which time they'll likely tour again and play a FleetCenter date. Perry will commute to join them. He and his wife, Billie, who have raised four children, now only have the youngest, 13-year-old Roman, at home, so they're ready for some new digs.

'You Gotta Move' Certified 4x Platinum
“Use this DVD as ‘Exhibit A’ in a greatest rock-band debate.” ----Parke Puterbaugh, Sound & Vision (February/March 2005)
“…’You Gotta Move’ will keep you dangling on the precipice of rock ‘n’ roll climax for 168 glorious minutes.” ----Ian Fortnam, Classic Rock (U.K., January 2005)
Aerosmith’s first-ever concert DVD “You Gotta Move”--recently released via Columbia Music Video--has already been certified 4X platinum. Frontman Steven Tyler was on hand at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas to receive a plaque commemorating sales of the concert film, which represents America’s Greatest Rock & Roll Band at their live concert finest, unleashing their “inhibition-free, sweat-slicked rock ‘n’ roll” (Classic Rock). Continuing Aerosmith’s tradition as pioneers of new media, the audio CD included with the DVD features UMixIt, a groundbreaking, interactive (non-downloadable) music technology for your PC. This marks the first time a major artist has used this technology.
UMixIt allows fans to take the song “You Gotta Move” (in 8 or 16-track versions) and manipulate, mix and re-mix the original instrumental and vocal tracks. Tyler says, "You never know what you can hear between the tracks unless you can solo them. We've made that possible without having to go to a recording studio. You can hear things like Joe stomping his fuzz-tone, and shoving his guitar into the amp for feedback, not to mention me clearing my throat and singing the wrong lyrics for all the right reasons."
The “You Gotta Move” DVD contains over two hours of music and interviews and includes an inside look at the making of Honkin' On Bobo, Aerosmith’s critically acclaimed 2004 blues album, which received a four-star review in Rolling Stone and was ranked by the magazine as one of the top 50 albums of the year. The members of Aerosmith--Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer--remain creatively vital, and are the platinum standard for artistic and commercial success in the music world.
“To get a performance that hangs together, very often people will film 20 shows to put a DVD together like that--and we filmed one," Joe Perry recently told Launch Radio Networks. "It was a testament to the ability of the band to put on a good show, knowing the cameras were running." The DVD also gives fans a chance to catch some behind-the-scenes action.
In the February issue of Sound & Vision magazine, Parke Puterbaugh said “You Gotta Move” is “…a smoking souvenir of their bluesy Honkin’ On Bobo tour. The two-hour program intersperses unrelenting energetic performances with studio and backstage footage…Use this DVD as ‘Exhibit A’ in a greatest rock-band debate.” Classic Rock went on to proclaim: “…they now seem almost supernaturally attuned, and consequently boast a synchronicity that soars way beyond the sum of their constituent parts. Each component (be it Tyler, Perry, Hamilton, Kramer or Whitford) therefore sits so comfortably in the well-oiled Aerosmith machine that they’re far more free to extemporize and emote than the corporate concoctions they call contemporaries.”
The live music on “You Gotta Move” was produced by Steven Tyler and Marti Frederiksen and the 5.1 Surround Sound was produced by Tyler, Thom Cadley and Frederiksen. Keith Garde (who produced Aerosmith’s 1990 documentary “The Making of Pump”) was Senior Producer. The DVD package also includes a seven-track bonus audio CD.

Forget The Fantasy
"Let's face it, the Valentine fantasy of a romantic dinner for two, diamond jewelry and the passionate night to remember is not realistic for most people. For starters, Valentine's Day is on a Monday this year. Is there any day of the week less romantic than Monday?.....There is romance to be found.....What works?.....Tell your guy he's hot stuff too and get saucy with a bottle of.....hot sauce.....For a little local flavor, try Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry's line, which is guaranteed to 'rock your world.....' Superbowl XXXIX Most Boring Bowl Ever
"Out of all the years I have seen the Superbowl, this year was by far the worst. There are the fans that are into the Superbowl for the game and then there are those who are just in it for the halftime show and commercials.....Let's move onto the halftime show. I like Paul McCartney, but that was no halftime show. The 'wardrobe malfunction' stirred more interest....."
"On Jan. 28, 2000, which was the best Superbowl halftime show ever, Aerosmith, NSYNC, Britney Spears, Nelly and Mary J. Blige shared the same stage on the night the St. Louis Rams won. The shows are more interesting when you don't expect who will show up....."

The Penalty Box: Patriots a Dynasty, Game a Super Bust
"Is it just me, or was it not quite the same this time around?.....The first flaw was the pre-game concert.....While last year's pre-game performance featured Boston rock legends Aerosmith, this year I was treated to some country singer named Gretchen Wilson....."
"After a decent half, it was time for the famous Super Bowl halftime show. This year's performer: Sir Paul McCartney, and, let's face it, the show was a Super Bowl bust.
I mean, it was certainly worthy of watching on VH1, but when I think of a Super Bowl extravaganza, I picture Michael Jackson in 1993 performing 'Heal the World' with 3,500 children singing backup. I remember the magical fusion of AeroSync three years ago when Steven Tyler joined forces with Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. This year, we got a British guy and a piano. Paul, you are a legend, but 'Hey Jude' has no place in football....."

Commemorating the 30th anniversary of the group's first signing with Columbia Records, "O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits" was the first-ever Aerosmith hits collection to include the absolute best from America's greatest rock 'n' roll band's Columbia Records and Geffen Records catalogs as well as two brand-new tracks — "Girls of Summer" and "Lay It Down" — recorded specially for this monumental compilation. Launch Radio Networks is reportingthat the AEROSMITH DVD "You Gotta Move" was recently certified quadruple platinum, which is a bit of a shock for lead guitarist Joe Perry. It's not that he didn't believe in the project, but Perry said that he was surprised with how well the DVD turned out, since working in 5.1 Surround Sound was a big challenge for the band. "Mixing it for the 5.1 was — it's a new place," he said. "I mean, it's not just stereo times two-and-a-half. So, there was a learning curve on that, that we all had to adjust to. And, you know, just the fact that it came out, and came out as good as it did, was, I thought, a miracle."
"You Gotta Move" includes footage from the making of AEROSMITH's "Honkin' On Bobo" album and the tour to promote it, as well as a bonus seven-track music CD. The song "You Gotta Move" features UMixIt technology, which allowed computer users to come up with something new and unique by working with the individual parts of the track.
"An extra special thanks to Richie Supa who helped bring Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi out to our toy run and who has confirmed, just recently, that they will be attending again next year! We are all looking forward to that!...And one more thing, the Official Toy Run DVD will be available soon. Make sure to check out next month’s issue for information on how and where to purchase your 2004 Toy Run DVD!"

Launch Radio Networks is reporting that AEROSMITH lead guitarist Joe Perry has announced more details for his upcoming solo album, on which he sings and plays all the guitar, bass, and keyboard parts. The self-titled project will be out May 3 — not March 28, as he'd previously said — and the first single is called "Shakin' My Cage". The album features 11 original tracks, along with covers of "The Crystal Ship" from THE DOORS and WOODY GUTHRIE's "Vigilante Man". Perry told Launch that working on covers was integral to getting the album done. "To get inspired to go down and write, I would go down and cover some of my favorite old rock songs or blues songs," he said. "So I'd go down and do, like, 'Little Red Rooster' — you know, sing it, play it, and do the whole exercise and, and finish a song. And then the next day, I would write something new."
Perry didn't include "Little Red Rooster" on his album. THE HOWLIN' WOLF blues standard has been recorded by acts including the GRATEFUL DEAD, ERIC CLAPTON, THE DOORS, TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS, and the ROLLING STONES.
Perry plans to do some live shows to support the album, but the dates and locations haven't been revealed.

Bob Kravitz' E-mail From Jacksonville
If you ever have the chance to attend a Super Bowl, one stop on your extended tour of silliness must include the lobby of the main media hotel. Sure, the high rollers are at Plush and the clubs where you need $300 or a big name to get in. The celebrities are at the nicer restaurants, where their people have made reservations for them months in advance. That's great if that's your kind of scene. Me? I could hang out in the lobby just about all night and watch the weirdness unfold. (Unless there's a really good blues bar nearby, in which case all bets are off.)
Everybody is here for a different reason.
There are people scalping, ahem, selling tickets. There are people purchasing tickets. There are fans of both teams wearing absurd team outfits, most of them having just consumed a six-pack of breakfast. There are a couple of big names -- I can't go 10 minutes without seeing Giants owner Wellington Mara, who I initially believed was Andy Rooney -- and there are locals who surround the Adam's Mark elevator, waiting for the Maras of the world to come through the crowd.
For me, it's a low-key Super Bowl in a low-key town, which may explain the low-key e-mails. Sorry, but it's hard to compare standing at an outdoor mall and checking out the line at Hooters with, say, devouring leg of lamb on Athens' Plaka and gazing up at the Acropolis.
And to think, just one season ago it was me and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler hanging out in the steam room. Maybe next year in Detroit. Or not.

(Winter in Vermont)
"I can't do the suburbs anymore," says Billie, a Kentucky native (and descendant of Davy Crockett). "You get to a point in your life when you need a change."
"I've always wanted to have a bigger chunk of land," says Perry. "And we love horses. We have three horses and another on the way -- we bought him in Holland and he's being shipped over. Billie and I have always dreamed of having a farm. Every couple of years we'd look around and try to find a place near Boston. Either we'd find something and we'd be too tired to move, or we just couldn't find anything, so we'd put another addition onto the house. But we finally found a place that has a good chunk of undisturbed land."
Perry's Duxbury home, which includes a pool house and a guest house, is not yet up for sale, but he expects to put it up in the next six months. (He also owns homes in Sunapee, N.H., and Sarasota, Fla.)
He and his wife also considered moving to Montana, but Perry ultimately felt that would be too far from Aerosmith. The White River Junction area is only a couple of hours' drive from Boston -- and 20 minutes by plane, he says.
"When it comes to work, I'll still be down here in Boston," he notes.
Of course, hanging with the Aerosmith crew isn't the only musical work he's got scheduled. Perry, who just turned 54, will release a self-titled solo album on May 3. He expects to put a band together to play some live dates to support it -- though, he admits, "It may take 10 crowbars to get me out of Vermont."
These days, he's packing and getting psyched to head north.
"The house [in Vermont] is smaller than this one, but it's just a beautiful area with a lot of forest," he says. "The main part of the house was built in 1790, and there are a few other buildings on the land."
One is a former schoolhouse. There's also a large barn where he will build a studio. His basement studio in Duxbury is named the Boneyard (he made his new solo album there and Aerosmith has used it), but he says he may call the Vermont studio "The Sugar House."
As for musicians in Vermont, Perry says, "I don't really know any, but I know I'll find them."

Aerosmith Guitarist Steps Up to The Mike
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry will release his self-titled solo album on May 3rd. The thirteen-track blues-rock effort is Perry's first under his own name since 1984's Once a Rocker, Always a Rocker, the third and final release under the Joe Perry Project moniker.
Perry admits that his own mortality was an impetus for finishing the new record. "I had this pile of riffs, but a song really isn't a song until you get lyrics and a melody on it," he says. "I thought, 'If my motorcycle hits a tree, my wife's gonna have nothing to put out.'"
After using three different lead vocalists for the Joe Perry Project albums, the guitarist took on the challenge of singing many of the Joe Perry songs himself. By writing in a lower register, he came up with songs that fit his deep voice, but he doesn't think Steven Tyler's job as Aerosmith singer is in jeopardy. "A lot of my riffs were originally written with Steven in mind," he says. "I work with one of the best rock & roll voices in the world, and my voice isn't anywhere near that."
The album -- which includes eleven Perry originals, including the uptempo single "Shakin' My Cage," plus covers of the Doors' "The Crystal Ship" and Woody Guthrie's "Vigilante Man" -- was recorded in the guitarist's home studio in Boston, a.k.a. "the Boneyard." Engineer Paul Caruso, who has worked on recent Aerosmith records, also served as drummer and co-producer.
Perry does not have plans for a tour to support the album, but that might be good news for Aerosmith fans. "I may end up not having the time," he says. "We're talking about going on the road with Aerosmith in September."

Osbourne Credits Cowell for 'Tears In Heaven' Idea
Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell have learned to put their petty quarrels behind them for the good of tsunami aid charities.
Osbourne admitted on MTV show 'Total Request Live' yesterday (03Feb05) that it was her on-off friend and occasional business partner, Cowell, who helped her put together her star-studded charity version of Eric Clapton's 'Tears In Heaven,' which will be released next month (Mar05).
She said, "It was actually his idea to come up with 'Tears In Heaven' because we were stuck, thinking, 'Gee, what song would mean something? What song says it all?'
"He came up with this and he helped me put the whole thing together. He's been great."
Osbourne's goal is to help charity groups in tsunami-ravaged south east Asia build orphanages with the proceeds from the single.
During her visit to MTV, Osbourne showed off footage of the stars performing their segments for the single. The video featured Gwen Stefani harmonising with husband Gavin Rossdale and Pink singing with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler.
And, upon hearing MTV was launching its four-day internet Tsunami Response Auction on the show, generous Osbourne, who had already donated signed guitars offered up the diamond jewellery she was wearing and the opportunity to have lunch with her.
To get the auction moving, she also bid $5,000 (GBP2,631) for artwork created and donated by pop star pal Stefani.

Eagerly-Awaited Solo Album From Legendary Aerosmith Guitarist Features 11 Joe Perry Originals Plus Woody Guthrie & The Doors Covers In Stores Tuesday, May 3
NEW YORK, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Columbia Records is set to release Joe Perry, the eagerly-awaited new solo album from rock icon Joe Perry, whose incendiary guitar work and songwriting for Aerosmith helped earn the group its ongoing multi-platinum status, four Grammy Awards, and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (2001). Joe Perry is in stores on Tuesday, May 3.
Recorded at the Boneyard -- Perry's basement home studio in Boston -- Joe Perry achieves a smoldering intensity via Perry's signature guitar riffs and unmistakable deep vocals. The album's 13 tracks include 11 new Joe Perry original compositions as well as covers of the Doors' "The Crystal Ship" and Woody Guthrie's "Vigilante Man."
"It didn't occur to me to put this record out until Aerosmith decided to take a year off," says Joe about his new album, which opens with the album's first focus track, "Shakin' My Cage." Joe Perry showcases Joe's vocals on songs like "Push Comes To Shove" and "Dying To Be Free" and his musical chops on instrumentals like "Mercy" and "Twilight."
"It's as honest a record as you're gonna get," says Joe Perry, revealing the nature of this true solo work. In fact, Joe sings all the vocals and plays all the guitars, bass and keyboard parts on Joe Perry. Perry also produced the album, which was co-produced by Paul Caruso, who recorded and engineered the disc and played drums throughout. Don't look for a who's who list of guest players here, except for a friend who teaches at the Berklee School of Music -- "an old-school analog synth guy, Chris Noise, who plays the string part on one ballad, 'Ten Years,'" says Joe Perry.
"Seems like these days that when people go off and do a solo record, it's more the norm to bring in a bunch of all-star friends, but I already have the amazing fortune to play with one of the best singers in the world and the hardest rocking band on the planet," Joe offers, "but also, the way these songs developed from the demos, they already had the sound I was looking for. And it was a refreshing challenge to work this way."
Joe Perry is the fourth solo album from the multi-talented Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. His previous works -- as the "Joe Perry Project" -- include the self-produced Let The Music Do The Talking (1980) and Once A Rocker, Always A Rocker (1984), along with I've Got The Rock 'N' Rolls Again (1981), all of which were recorded at a time when Joe was on hiatus from Aerosmith. The new album differs from those discs in several key aspects.
"This one didn't come from anywhere near the same space as those albums," Joe explains. "I mean, I had fun doing them and they certainly fulfilled a creative need, but this record reflects the experience of 20 more years of writing and recording and making my way on this planet."
With his home studio located just downstairs from the living quarters, the music on Joe Perry was created organically and recorded under no deadlines or pressure. In fact, the genesis of the album goes back 10 years -- the song "Ten Years" was written by Joe as a tenth anniversary gift to his wife, Billie Paulette, with no intention of it ever being heard by the public. The rest of the album was written by Joe as he worked on Aerosmith's Nine Lives, Just Push Play and 2004's acclaimed blues-fest Honkin' On Bobo, the "four star" (Rolling Stone) album on which Joe sang lead vocals on two tracks.
"One day I was complaining about a lack of inspiration and my wife, Billie, in her role as muse, said, 'Get down and sing where you belong,'" says Joe. "I felt I busted loose and started singing where my voice was more natural as you can hear on the song 'Back Back Train' (from Honkin' On Bobo). I discovered a whole new place and it was a whole new vehicle for me. I found I was writing music better suited for my vocal range."
What about Joe Perry's lyrical inspiration for these tunes? "Well, most of the songs are love songs," he confesses. "Some of them are fast and some of them are slow, that's about it. You sing what you know."
Joe Perry's work with Aerosmith has resulted in an unending array of accolades and honors. Some key milestones over the past 30 years include: album sales exceeding 100 million copies; induction in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001; four Grammy Awards; 12 MTV Video Awards; two People's Choice Awards; six Billboard Music Awards; eight American Music Awards; 23 Boston Music Awards; and an Academy Award nomination for Best Song, "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" (from the soundtrack to "Armageddon").
Stay tuned for news about possible Joe Perry live appearances.
